Flonc Church (Rum Village)

The village of Flonc is also known as the Rum village because of an old rum and sugarcane factory that was there before the earthquake. When we first visited this village the people were living in extreme poverty conditions. They lacked food, water and shelter and had strong voodoo beliefs so we opened a small church and began humanitarian aid programs to help in the relief of their poverty. A well was drilled to provide clean water for everyone in the village and surrounding areas.

The Church and security wall surrounding the property were completely destroyed in the earthquake. Since the earthquake we have been able to build a new church building and security wall. Our food distribution and community programs are also run out of the church building.
